Finding a proper Alfa Giulietta racecar can be a challenge, but finding a real Veloce with period racing history is nearly impossible… but, here it is; an original 1958 Giulietta Sprint Veloce 1300 (VYX 2) with documented racing history since 1959. It was bought new by Mr. Sheperd-Barron from the UK (always been a LHD) and was immediately converted to race-spec for the 1959 UK Production Sports-Car Championship. It proved to be very competitive in fighting with the likes of Clark in his Lotus Elite and won no less than eight 1st places, ten 2nd and six 3rd (out of 32 outings). Mr. Barron continued to campaign VYX 2 succesfully in the 1960 season before selling it to Mr. Tony Sanderson at the end of the 1960 season. After some time, the car ended-up back in Italy where it was bought in 1987 and brought to the Netherlands. It was then fully restored and prepared according to FIA classic race spec. Since then, the car has extensively campaigned in the European classic race scene. The car will be offered for immediate use and comes with FIA passport and lots of period race documentation and some pictures. Rare opportunity.
